Pastor Bryce Duling officially was named Interim Lay Pastor on April 23, 2023.
 Bryce grew up in Madrid and attended St. Paul’s. After high school, Bryce attended Northwest Missouri State University and received his BS in Biology and Psychology. He also did his graduate work at Iowa State University in Human Development and Family Studies. Bryce is currently attending PATHWAYS Theological Education which is an alternative seminary sponsored by the United Church of Christ.

For the past 30 years, Bryce worked in the hospitality industry for companies such as Red Lobster, SPIN! Pizza, The Casual Foodie and was owner operator of The Palace in Madrid. Red Lobster offered Bryce an opportunity to move to Kansas City, where he met his wife Alyssa. The two were married in 2010 and had their daughter, Wednesday, in 2019.

In January of 2020, the Dulings moved back to Madrid. After the Covid shut down, Bryce started to get more involved in the daily operations at St. Paul’s. He started serving as Pulpit Supply and joined various committees and the choir prior to being offered the interim pastor position. Currently Bryce is a member of the Madrid Ministerial Council and the Rural and Small Church Coalition for the United Church of Christ. Bryce also serves as the UCC national delegate to the Churches Uniting in Christ ecumenical council
